How To Ride

Visit the How To Ride section of the Burlington Transit website to learn more about using Burlington Transit.

Animals

With the exceptions of service animals (i.e. an animal trained for the purpose of accompanying and assisting a person with a disability including visually or hearing impaired persons), no other animals shall be allowed onto Burlington Transit buses unless they are contained in an appropriate carrying device, as space permits.

Bicycles

All buses, on all routes, are equipped with bike racks which can be used at all times. They can hold two bicycles and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the bike rack is full, it may be brought on board if space permits and other passengers are not inconvenienced. Passengers should be asked to take their bicycles to the back of the bus for safe storage. Please note that you are responsible for loading and unloading your own bicycle.

Luggage and Strollers

Parcels and large objects are permitted (with the exception of hazardous materials,) as long as there is no obstruction to the aisles as well as entrance and exit points and there is no inconvenience to passengers nor the safe operation of the bus.

Strollers may be transported on buses when there is space and other passengers are not inconvenienced. All regular service buses feature low floors with an extendable ramp/lift kneeling feature at front doors, facilitating passengers requiring entry without the use of stairs. For safety reasons, Burlington Transit operators may request that the child be removed from the stroller and that it be collapsed for safe storage. For the safety of all customers, the aisles must not be blocked.
